Addis Ababa, – Nigerian Foreign Minister, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, said Ethiopia is well involved in the efforts geared towards maintaining peace and stability in Somalia.
In an exclusive interview with WIC, Maduekwe said Ethiopia has exerted commendable efforts to promote peace and security in Africa, in particular, to maintaining peace and stability in Somalia.
He said the country always takes the front position in all endeavors to ensure peace and stability in the continent.
The minister further said the country is scoring successful results in various economic sectors owing to the feasible policy and strategy put in place as well as qualities of its leaders.
He also appreciated Prime Minister Meles Zenawi’s leadership quality not only to Ethiopia but also for the African Union (AU).
Meanwhile, Director of the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions, Dr. Afzal Sher and Vice President of LEKAB Communication Systems, Klas Gronqvist, hailed the various development activities underway in the country.
They said the country is witnessing tangible achievements in the road, telecommunications, construction and hydro-electric power sectors.
They said the development activities being carried out demonstrate the conducive development policy the government of Ethiopia is implementing in the country.
Concerning the bilateral relation between the two countries, they said Ethiopia and Sweden have very important and longstanding relationships in the agriculture, research, education as well as health sectors.
They also expressed their satisfaction with the accommodation , security and friendliness of the people of Ethiopia.
Sweden is keen to work with the government of Ethiopia in expanding ICT in the country, they added.
